The Lords of Breda - Founders of the Only Dutch Templar Commandery

Yet one noble family stands apart from all the legends: the lords of Breda, who founded a commandery that science confirms was real. The only full Commandery in the northern Low Countries. Most Templar attributions in the Low Countries dissolve under source-critical scrutiny: sixteenth-century chronicles, misread place-names, confusion with the Hospitallers. Yet four individuals emerge from the primary record with credible, documented associations. Who were they?
